I'm paying for 75 mbps download and upload from Verizon and wirelessly I can only reach 25 Mbps but when plugged in with Ethernet it reaches 75. I read that g and b bottleneck n but I was thinking about buying a dual band router to run with my current FiOS router so that all b and g devices can either connect to the FiOS router and all the n devices can connect to the dual band router. Would this setup work for what I'm trying to achieve? Thanks.

Yes. You can setup the second router as an access point. When you plug it in you just have to make sure you change its address. For instance, if your FIOS router's gateway is 192.168.0.1 then your gateway on the second router would need to be something like 192.168.1.1
You're essentially setting up an entire new network. Which means it will have its own broadcast ID, password etc.
