I replaced my sempron CPU with phenom X4 805. I already have this dkm-7D 52A-A1-GP heatsink ( I believe it is capable of cooling 95W CPU, came to know through ebay site). Problem starts here. I replace my sempron with phenom and didn't apply thermal paste at first just to check. With old thermal paste, It was idling at 50-55c and it reaches 70 or more under 100% load. Now I bought a thermal paste and applied. Now It is worse than before. It silently creeps to 63-65C under normal usage(30-35%)(in 30-40 minutes) .I maxed out my fan speed right from the boot.
Is my heatsink and cpu fan an issue or the thermal paste. Don't this heatsink fan support this CPU? I have an extra fan backside pushing air out.
