Why does my card run at these clocks

I recently bought my gigabyte gtx 980ti xtreme gaming and one of the many reasons i bought it was because i digged it stock/boost clocks. Long story short, mine doesnt seem to come close to those even under load unless i overclock actively and not just turning modes on. Pics below

PS: Under load it just adds +100 to the boost clocks that pics above show

What is going on??

Btw i do know that gpus dont run at stock speeds idle, but this thing doesnt even hit the 1347 clock gigabyte promised

EDIT: Oh forgot to also mention to look at the memory clock. 7200 gigabyte specs 7010 mine

Ok I think I figured it out. You are running LN2 bios, There is a switch on your card to switch LN2 clocks on. Those ones match yours.
Change it back and it should be fine.

Hi there, that is a bit strange to me too. But first things first. I would close the OC GURU II app and install GPU Z and MSI afterburner.

On this site http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/gigabyte_geforce_gtx_980_ti_g1_gaming_soc_review,36.html at the bottom they reported funnies with the OC Guru tool, with regards to measuring clock speed. You can find it at the very bottom of the review conclusion page. I must say I never experienced this, so drastically as you.

Anyways. 1347 is boost speed. You are looking at base clock speed. For all intents and purposes you should be looking at boost speeds for overclocking. With the correct settings you should be able to push that card over 1500Mhz boost.
GPU-Z should give a clear reading of your actual Mhz and Boost speeds. Also, try running a benchmark and then check your GPU-Z for actual numbers so you are not looking at throttled numbers.
If you are still not 100% you could look at upgrading your bios, that sometimes fixes base clock issues but I would avoid that unless I cant.

Best would be if you ran a benchmark like furmark (part of MSI Combustor) and checked your clock speeds in GPU-Z and tune it from there using MSI Afterburner.

Ive actually used msi afterburner's osd to monitor temps and clocks already playing gta v at ultra settings everything turned up, as some sort of stress test. Still reports the same clock speeds oc guru does. And gpu-z is not different.Not to mention i did a unigine benchmark as well(heaven 4) still same speeds.

I did a quick check again to refresh my memory and found this:
Base/Boost: 1102/1178; Memory: 7010MHz

This basically means it is on par with your card. I am unsure why these numbers are so low out of the box, but clearly you should overclock that card because you will get much more out of it.

Another thing is that I see your fan is in Manual mode. I actually stopped using OC guru because its fan curve editor does it in limited jumps instead of the nice smooth graph of MSI afterburner.

I would recommend you read an OC guide and overclock that card to 90% its full potential. You will probably hit over 1500 with it easily, my g1 used to got 1500 boost without issues but it had coil whine. Anyhow, would be interesting to hear if you get coil whine in the furmark or in more specifically in the tesselator test in Kombustor.

Try this,
First of all you need to TOTALLY remove all the old drivers. Use this link.
http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
Note:
Select the respective company(i.e Nvidia or ATI) drivers to be uninstalled.
Use clean and restart option.
And then install the new drivers after rebooting.

Bare with me cuz i got a bit confused. xD
What will LN2 clocks report(in numbers) if i "flip" the switch on? Is that a switch of physical nature or do i have to do some BIOS change? That 6gd card you linkked IS my card btw. Just putting it out there cuz i might be missing your train of thought/english not my native language and all. :p

I read this off that page I mentioned.
I think you need to power down your PC, and perhaps switch off the mains on your PSU, then switch the LN Bios switch back to off.
LN2 stands for Liquid Nitrogen, and it is only used for extreme overclocking. The base numbers they lower for more stability I guess.
For standard air cooling you must use the standard BIOS, Not LN2. Your timings should back to the higher clock speeds once you change it back.

Switch off the mains on my PSU? What do you mean by that? Can you guide me through each step pretty pls.What should i look into doing after powering down my pc. As i understand it, i should turn the ln2 bios off and turn the default one back on? Am i right?

EDIT: I got it. I see the built in X sign on my card through the plexi glass. You're a god, sir. :D

Your can find this in your user manual should should ensure that your don't break your card.

Here is what I would do:
- shut down windows,
- unplug PC from the wall, or switch of the PSU (power supply) with the switch that is normally at the back.
- Open you case and find the switch that says LN2 on it. Switch it the other way.
- Boot up windows, and celebrate the clock speeds. :bounce:
