Looking for some help on a problem I am having.

Built a new system last month, here are the specs:

Windows 7
Intel i7 6700k
Asus Z170 Maximus Hero 8
EVGA GTX 980 TI
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 16GB (2x8GB)
Samsung 850 Evo Pro 500GB
TP Link Archer T8E AC1750
LG 16x Sata Blu-ray drive

The system was working flawlessly until a few days ago I received a blue screen. Since then I have been unable to boot. The crashes always occur at the Windows logo. (these crashes were blue screens however since yesterday the screen just goes blank and the PC resets)

I have tried using the Windows installation disk however it crashes at the same point. I also attempted to use the Kaspersky rescue disk however this too resulted in a crash. I can access the bios.

Here are a few things I have tried to diagnose the problem:

- Removed the GPU and network card.
- Removed the m.2 ssd and tried a standard SSD.
- Attempted to boot with 1 RAM stick (tried this with both sticks)
- Ran Memtest86 which did not indicate any problems with the memory
- Attempted to install Windows 10 via a USB stick; crashed on the windows logo. (was able to run windows memory diagnostic using the USB however which also did not show any problems with the memory)
- Double-checked connections.
- Reseting BIOS settings to default

I should also note on one occasion I was able to launch the safe mode with command line interface. Here I was able to do a /scannow which did not flag any problems. I didn't do anything else at the time as I was not sure what other commands to attempt. Haven't been able to get back to this point.

I think that is all of it. My apologies for the long message, and any help would be much appriciated.

So every time windows logo shows it bsod, So if all drives are removed, what does it do/say then please.

The problem sounds like a hardware failure, could try disabling unnecessary devices in bios to see if one of those stop the bsod like ethernet, sound and different keyboard etc try booting.check usb's hdmi plugs for bent pins
Considering even safeboot does this,(except once) i would breadboard this mobo and start with just the psu, board, cpu, ram, different keyboard - no faults? add M..2 and install windows, still no faults? till you narrow which part fails it

Thanks for responding.

Booting up without the SSD just sends it into the BIOS. I have tried booting without the keyboard and mouse which doesn't make a difference. Tried disabling on-board devices, again, no help. Attempted to boot up with basic components, it is only when I introduce the SSD I get the problems however I have tried another SSD which resulted in the same problem; blue screen at Windows logo.

One more thing to add. My most recent blue screen had the error message: "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" this isn't the only error message I have received in the blue screens however it has shown up a few times. Any ideas what this might point to? also one of the things mentioned in the blue screens is disable memory caching or shadowing; not sure how to do this.

If it is a driver conflict is there anyway around it? right now I can't boot up so in unsure how I would fix this kind of issue.

First of all, do you have another computer or are you using a mobile device, if you have another computer (laptop would work), then I might be able to help. If you can get the dump file from BSOD please post it.

I am currently using a laptop.

Little update on the situation. I was advised by technical support where I brought the parts from to update the BIOS. After doing this I was able to access the BIOS to confirm the newest version had installed successfully. I then tried to boot up the SSD which resulted in the computer restarting. Now the computer will not get past the POST. I have recieved two error codes via the on-board display. These are "PCH initialization before microcode loading" and "installation of the PCH runtime services". The latter only showed up once, I mostly get the microcode loading one. Regardless the system won't get past POST at the moment.

Could this indicate the problem or could this just be an issue with the BIOS update?

If anyone is interested or has a similar problem, I returned the motherboard and CPU to the retailer and the CPU was in fact faulty. Thanks to those who took the time to respond.
