Best Version of Civilization V

Hi,

I have not played a strategy game for quite sometime and was thinking about buying one. During my search I came across this Civilization V which I think I would enjoy.

When looking for a copy that I could buy online I came across loads of different editions, so now I am confused as what one I should buy.

Would someone be kind enough to recommend me one that I can play without requiring other versions.I am in the UK so if you know where I can buy it that would be even better.

Different editions? Are you referring to the DLC?

Game of Year edition, The complete Edition, Brave new world, etc

Game of the Year Edition basically means you get all of the add-on content that they've released. Brave New World is the name of one of the DLCs in Civ V.

If you're getting it, get Game of the Year Edition. The best place I've seen to get it from is Steam ($13 GotY edition) and HRKGame ($11 Complete). Complete is essentially the same thng as the Game of the Year Edition.

hrkgame.com will be for you, just search up 'Sid Meier's Civilization V: Complete Edition' on there. Make sure you have a Steam account to activate it.

Just following up here, the complete (goty) edition is almost required to have a good time playing CIV V. Brave New World offered so many new improvements to the base game, and G&K added some nice features.
I picked up the complete edition for 12.50 on steam 3 summers ago.

You hit the add to steam button on the bottom left, enter the code, and download.
I personally cant speak for key sites, I only use retailers.
