Do LGA 1150 coolers work on 1151 motherboards?

I want to buy a new cooler but can not find a '1151' cooler anywhere, just 1155/1150/775 coolers, will these work on the skylake motherboards? Thanks

ah well that still is not an issue. remember the whole skylake chips being crushed by heatsinks news hype? even though it turned out to be really obscure and with a few models and then quickly rectified, they were all 1150, why? because the mounting mechanistic and layout is identical, so manufactures do not need to make a new heat sink. hence why the cooler master hyper 212 evo still sells like hotcakes, because it works just dine on LGA 1151. it would be nice if they were to add LGA 1151 to the support lists, it would lessen confusion.

Well it says LGA 1151 so it will work.also the socket is the same size and the mounting hardware is the same, so yes it will work.

Sorry typo, meant to write 1150, the problem is that I can't find any that states '1151'
