My XFX HD Radeon 6970 2gb Card is Running @ 103/105 Degrees Celsius while under gaming load, I have done much research and tried tweaking alot of things but it seems to @ these Alarming temps, I have tried completely removing the drivers and re installing and nothing seems to bring them down, im scared this GPU is going to fry my Mobo and dont even want to put stress onto it, I could boil water on it when im gaming and it also sounds like a jet engine, I mean 90 degrees under pressure isnt to bad but 105 degrees i feel my card is going to break....Please Help! is it time for a New GPU? sucks I do not want to replace this one it works fine its just the temps....

It just needs the heatsink to be re-seated and the dust blown out. It is common on all cards after 4 years or so. I've done it on cards after 2 years just for proper maintenance. Its nothing hard, and a lot of cards wont have the warranty voided for doing this. If its get damaged in the process it can void warranty, but its just a few screws a dap of non conductive thermal paste and re attached the screws. Someone like me will take way to much time with the details, but they dont do anything special at the factory the first time. In fact it is common to have thermal pastes squished out all over the sides from the factory seating.

If you use non conductive thermal paste, which most of the normal ones are, you almost cant screw it up. I belieb in you. Just do it.

The Rest of my PC Specs are:
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz
G.SKILL Ripjaws 8X2 Series 16GB RAM
asus m5a99x AM3+Evo 2.0 MoBo
Thermaltake SMART Series 750w Power Supply

Could my Power Supply be the problem? Maybe I need more power to Run to card Optimal?
