Hey, new comer to the pc building community, for about 3-4 months now I have been thinking about buying a new pc. A gaming pc now, not just a high-end every day laptop like the one I currently have. I have started to play more high-end games, not just Minecraft (No judging please). I have started to play more games that used to be popular such as Battlefield 4 and Heroes of the Storm. I may start playing League of Legends and maybe Steam? I have been back and forth over builds, prices and other aspects of my wish-list.

The reason I need someone to check my build is because I have about 2 week span of free time in which I can build/send back faulty parts before I go on vacation. I rather just know my parts are compatible, then the only thing I have to face is the uncertainty of faulty parts. My build is here, PCPartPicker.

Thanks you in advance for checking, I need some experts to look it over. I will double check over ports and compatibles myself soon. Please respond if you had a bad/good experience with any of these parts, or have a better recommendation. My Budget is $1000, so if you have any suggestions, please check for that price range.

Edit:
After further review, I realized some parts won't meet my needs. I changed the motherboard to the micro ATX motherboard BadActor mentioned. Then I realized I would probably overclock my processor if I changed it to and i5 6600, so I added a CORSAIR Hy?dro Series? H50 120mm? Quiet Edi?tion Liqui?d CPU Cool?er. I also changed my graphics card to a MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V , for more gaming power. For the Power Supply, It's of high quality although that it's used. I am probably going to replace it in a few months to a newer one, so it doesn't rend my pc to pieces. My new build is this.

Your build has a number of problems. You're using a locked processor on a Z170 motherboard. You could use a cheaper motherboard or get an unlocked CPU for overclocking. If not overclocking, you won't need the CPU cooler, the i7 comes with a stock one. If you did want to overclock, there are better air coolers out there for the money. The i7 is really overkill for a gaming build using a GTX 960. You could get way better FPS and higher settings by using an i5 and a more powerful graphics card. The case is rather poor quality, but if you like the looks, it isn't that critical. Lastly, DDR3 is not recommended by Intel for Skylake CPU's regardless of what the mobo makers claim, only DDR3L.

Based on the above, a better performance per dollar...

Hello,
Yes the build looks good,
I would suggest to get the i5 6600 which would save you $100 and add the savings to get 970 gtx instead, or buy a used 980
+ spend $60 on a cheap 240gb SSD for the boot drive

Based on the above, a better performance per dollar build would look something like below. I included a good quality PSU not knowing the quality of the one you have already purchased.
