Hello, everyone. I am looking to update my home gaming rig after about 6 years. I need four components: CPU, mobo, GPU, and RAM. I'm not married to any particular brands or manufacturers. I am willing to spend up to $800.

One thing, I do plan to keep using my current case (http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001440) and 700W PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341018&Tpk=N82E16817341018).

I DON'T need this computer to be capable of VR, 4K resolution, or running the GPU in SLI or Crossfire. I would like a mobo that supports overclocking the CPU and RAM, though. I'm hoping this new system will be future-proof enough that I can continue to play the newest games at full detail level and +60fps for the next several years.

Thanks in advance for any advice you folks can give. Cheers.

Well your going to want to look at a Skylake CPU/LGA1151 The new Kaby Lake supports LGA1151 motherboards so it will last you awhile. Microcenter is your best bet they have cpu+mobo discounts. I would suggest a i5 6600k cpu around 205 at Microcenter, they are able to overclock more than the i7. No need for i7 gaming i5 will do great. As far mobo goes, i suggest asus rog maximus vIII hero about 200 bucks bundled. Another few good ones are gigabyte z170 gaming gaming k3, asrock fatality z170 k6. Memory go with ddr4 nothing crazy, EVGA has great memory for low price. 16gb is sweetspot really. And gpu grab the gtx 1070 when it comes out. Should net around 800 can always downgrade mobo some just have extra features you may not need. They will...

Hey, thanks very much. Some great specifics in there, and I've never heard of Microcenter, so I'll be sure to check that out, as well as the various mobos you mentioned. Thanks again.
