So I want to build my own computer. A gaming PC. It's being built as cheaply as possible. Things I plan to go cheap on are the case and motherboard if possible.

Which brings me to my issue. I was over on Newegg looking at the stuff I would need. Especially motherboards. I want to have some options available to me. I don't want to be stuck with something that has limits like the prebuilt I have now. By that I mean I would like to get a motherboard that allows me to over clock at least the CPU. I would also like the option to use SLI if I choose to. Not that I plan to right away.

I looked at the Motherboards on Newegg and the options and everything available was pretty overwhelming. I was pretty confused and lost at times.

I plan on going for an intel build. I want a i5 at least, but I would like to have the option for an i7 if I choose later on. That is if I don't go for an i7 right off.

As far as price goes I would like to keep it under $100 but going a little over $100 isn't a big deal. Just I really don't want to spend $300 on a motherboard though. Cause I want to put all my funds towards the GPU and CPU.

If someone here could point me in the right direction by recommending some motherboards it would be a big help.

As I said before I plan on going NVidia and Intel for this build. Though I noticed the AMD FX CPU's were much cheaper.

I plan to go with 16GB of RAM. I would also like the option to go higher if I wanted if it's possible.

Yeah I think I will go more powerful than that. I mean I am not constrained by a really small budget. It's not like I am trying to build a computer for $300. Which after looking at the prices seems like a myth to me.
