Look for inexpensive processor that will run current and some next gen games. Options?

I'm building my Brother's family an entertainment rig that will be used for mostly gaming and movies. I am on a tight budget. And this will be my 4th or 5th build. I've had experience with mostly high-end parts but not some much low or middle ground parts.

Right now my budget for CPU and Mobo is $100-$200 dollars. (I know) And I would prefer going with a mini-itx Mobo. I'm sure if I'm patient. I'll come across a mobo combo But in the mean time.

I'd like to see if anyone has any recommendations for CPU's and GPU. Something that won't go stale quick.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Do want a GPU+CPU+MOBO for under 200$? You have to make sure you have no typos.

Regardless, for that price range you're limited, is something like this OK: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fJWttJ

ITX boards are expensive and some cases don't support ATX Power Supply's. There aren't any good GPU's under 100$ unless you go second hand. BTW SSD's are great for when you build PC's for people who tend to fill them with stuff and slow them down (Thanks Aunt Mary, you made me learn that the hard way).

Yes sorry guys mind was move to fast or slow. Yes but CPU and Mobo. I was thinking about going with Mobo here. And the i3 yeah I like that. I then I wondering if I should wait on the GPU. I was looking at going with a GTX 950 I've seen a couple places selling them for $100 before any rebates.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157687

So This is what I have.

i3 6100
AsRock H110M (see link)
GTX 950
SSD 256GB (I'm sure I could find one for 50 bucks)
Undecided on RAM right now but 8GB is fine.

As long as it can run fallout 4 or Doom this rig will work fine.

That is very balanced, maybe a 120GB SSD and a HDD? You want to have Windows on the SSD but you can fit more Games/Movies on a HDD. And that CoolerMaster case is apparently the best budget small ITX case.

Omg I think that will do. I mean all I have to do spend an extra 50 bucks to upgrade the CPU to an i3. What do you think?

Sure, most Games nowadays use more than 2 threads. It will probably ensure less GPU bottlenecks.

Yeah boards are expensive but my brother wanted small form. With the budget that have I figure he'll shell out more at a later or sooner date to for storage.. And he's smart not to save anything to main drive. If form factor wasn't an issue I would have had a field day.

My concern is that this will be a entertainment family rig. The youngest child is 8 and the oldest is 16.

Nah I'm not gonna try with this build. I think the only you could try to even future proof is the GPU. But the rig you layed out is all ready far beefier than an xbone and PS4. More likely when my niece heads off to college next year my brother will either give this rig to her or ask me to build some better for her.

Otherwise I can see him using this more him after she heads off to college. My nephew is only 8 so kid gloves until he's 10

I actually have the Card and it plays everything but at varying settings (Read comment below :D). I haven't come across a game it couldn't play.

For example BF4 1080P Ultra Settings 50-60 FPS, COD BO3 1080p Ultra Settings 50-60 FPS, Metro Last Light 1080p High Setting 50-60 FPS. Here are some Benchmarks if you trust them: http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/asus-geforce-gtx-950-strix-review,1.html

You should have similar results if there isn't any CPU Bottleneck. I sadly need to eat this month otherwise I would have also tested Doom. Please Gaben, make this Summer Sale a Dream come true!

Wow really on that G processor. That is impressive. So I should be able to get a good 40 to 50 fps on something like Fallout 4 or MGSV

Doom is awesome. And with Overwatch out. I think I'm good till august. (No man sky and Deus Ex) Saw a lot of people buying doom from GMG and CDkeys which had a discount code that practically brought the game down to 30 bucks

Yeah I've been playing Overwatch with some friends, I don't think any game has made me as mad as that (It's a blast so far). And after finishing Dues Ex without any lethal kills I can't wait for the next one. The only game that I had to play on Med/High Settings was The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt (again 45-60 FPS depending on what region in the game you are in). I actually use the PC with the GTX 950 down stairs with a Projector and I have a few Controllers too. So essentially a Gaming HTPC perfect for games like Rocket League.

The only 3rd party E- Games Store I used was the Humble Bundle, some of my friends use G2A but I don't trust it with my Credit Card.

Sorry rambling on, good luck with the Build I hope it satisfy's your Family :3

Not all man. I appreciate the help. You've been great. I've been playing Overwatch myself. Freaking love that game. fun and so good to look at.. I use all outlets. I've used G2A few times, I always use paypal if something goes wrong. Humblebundle is great but the weekly bundle have been repeats lately. The monthly is the way to go. Hey I'll message you my user contact. hit me up sometime.

You get a Figurine I think? https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/buy/#collectors-edition
I got the 40$ version, the only difference is probably skins.

BTW if you didn't see this version http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/ ;3

If you say G2A is legit I've got no choice but to trust you :D It's always more fun talking with people like this, probably abusing this site a bit though. Then again if you have a Niece you're probably quite old, right ;D

Some gave me the Origins edition. And then I got my hands on collectors edition. A buddy wants to buy it from me. But I wanted to do a little research to make sure I wasn't missing out on any bonuses included. otherwise I figure I'd just redeem it myself. Does blizzard ever add anything else to their collectors or special editons at a later date?

I would say if you going to get anything from G2A try to do it in bulk. Or purchase the G2A Shield. But Paypal is the also the best way to cover yourself from getting screwed. And nah man not that old yet lol.

If Blizzard had any intention of giving stuff for free I wouldn't be buying the the 4th Star-Craft expansion. It might make sense do get games like in bulk, thanks for the suggestion. And sorry I was Imagining someone in His/Hers late thirties.
