I'm about to build my own PC and i'm wondering about what parts i should buy. I thinking about buying a GTX 1080 and i'm wondering about what parts i should set it up with. Do anyone have any nice builds you would svare with me? I may get another GTX 1080 someday so i want a motherboard that supports SLI.

Solution
With that budget, wait till the 1080 comes out. It's due to be released in the UK tomorrow and in the US either now or soon after, its a beast from what information is out there. Like it was said before, don't bother with SLI on your first build.

Threw this together to give you an idea of what to go for, with in mind of going SLI in the future and assuming you don't have an OS already and you do have a monitor.

I'm sure someone else will want to throw in their two pence.

I went for Windows 10 OS, as that'll support 64gb RAM if you want to upgrade your RAM further than 32gb. If you prefer Windows 7, then you'd have to go with the Pro versions to upgrade further than 32gb, but cost roughly the same as Win10.

I personally would steer clear of SLI/CF especially on your first build. If you absolutely want to do multi GPUs I would recommend getting an intel i7, if only one GPU then the i5 will do nicely. If you plan on overclocking your CPU make sure you get the version ending with a 'K' (unlocked).

well if you have more cents than sense you can do this (swap the 980ti for 1080 if you want to). But I really don't recommend it. Going with an i5 or i7 and a single GPU is a much more sane option. Going all out like this is involves paying lots of money for diminishing returns.

The price for a GTX 1080 will be roughly around $600-650 over in the US, from what I've read, so this will take you roughly to $2400
