I am going to use an Intel i5 4460 form my build. Obviously I am not going to overclock but I plan to game.

I'd rather have a quieter system and also keep my cpu temperature in the low 70's while in load. I want this to increase the life span of the cpu.

Will the stock cooler do that or do I need an aftermarket cooler

Solution
Have a look at my signature.... the stock cooler can cope with more heat than a 4460. Most you can run on the stock cooler is an i7.
It is fairly quiet, though an aftermarket cooler will be quieter.
Heat does not damage Intel CPU unless above 80°C
