Well here good enough for a 1080. Replace the 980ti with a 1080. Try this.

The Samsung 850 evo 500 GB has better performance than the 250 GB version. Would be unfortunate if you build this and know it could have been a little faster. Worth considering.

Also I would wait for reviews on the 1070. You never know...

Build looks fine, as far as what motherboard that really comes down to what connectivity you may or may want in future (how many usb 3.0 headers, usb 3.1, m2 slots, sata express, etc).

Don't get ADATA or any cheapo SSD (especially not a Kingston V300), stick with your Samsung EVO.

Thanks appreciate the input. I definitely will not get a 1080 and I was planning to build this around the end of June to make sure the 1070 performs as expected

In case you did not know, the a data premier is one of the best bang/buck SSD out here. The 850 EVO is extremely overpriced. And you do understand all the OEM makers come down the the sa,e few, Samsung, Hynix and Toshiba.
And the headers don't provide any performance gains if you don't use them. Agree
