Hello; I've had a stock CPU cooler with my FX-8350 processor for about 2 years now and it's gotten quite loud, so I've decided to replace it. As it so happens, one of my friends happens to have a spare GeminII M4 lying around and is willing to let me use it, but before I go to the trouble I want to make sure it'll work. He said that it uses an 1151 socket, and I'm not sure how to check that. Will it work with my motherboard?

Solution
Nope. The 8350 is a 125w processor and that cooler can barely keep up with a stock 95w cooler. You would also need to purchase the AMD mount which may prove difficult to source.

Which case do you have? perhaps a cheap Hyper 212 would fit.

My case is a Source 210, so size isn't an issue. I was just hoping to use the GeminII since I would be able to get it from my friend for free. Ah well.
