Ok so recently i upgraded my gpu to a 970. Then i started getting black screen reboots so i figured it was my PSU so i got a brand new Corsair 750w. Then the black screens stopped for a few days now they are back and my motherboard is buzzing near the cpu socket. So im pretty certain this is a motherboard problem.

My specs
Mainboard: MSI 890FXA-GD70
CPU: AMD FX 8350
GPU: Asus strix GTX 970
Ram: 16gb Gskill sniper
PSU: Corsair 750w

As far as i know, that motherboard has really bad power delivery and it's only a 4+1 phase si it might just be it.
First of all, you should upgrade your bios to the latest version, seeing as the board is one generation behind.
If the problem persists try underclocking and undervolting the cpu.
Btw whitch corsair did you get?

I got the CX 750 also it probably doesn't help that the board is like 4-5 years old and its on pretty much all the time.

It doesn't. But before you sink any more money in that dead platform take the steps i suggested.
Very bad choice of PSU, btw. It's not excluded that it has something to do with it.

I dont have another PSU to test with. Changing from the old one to this one fixed the problem temporarily so i really have no idea.

We didn't get to that yet. First teh bios update and, if not solved, CPU undeclock.
