I was looking for a desktop with 32gb of memory cos I do video processing etc.
the salesman said software only uses 16gb except for the latest 3d software.
I use old video editing software and photoshop elements and Blender - a 3d software.
is he correct?
thanks

Clearly. Get 32 gigs as its quite affordable.
"higher versions" was bag way of expressing myself. I meant more premium Win versions: Win 10 Pro and Win 10 Enterprise.
All you need is Windows 10 Home x64.

It depends. Each 32-bit program is limited to upward of 3.5 gigs. But if you run 4 simultaneusly and push them, you already get 16.
So it depends on the software and usage. 64bit apps(whitch you should get) would in theory be able to access an enourmous amount of data, but are limited by windows's limits(128G win 10 home and 512GB higher versions).

Simply put, if all teh software you use is 32-bit, you will probably never go over 16gigs.

if I am using more than one software at a time and each can use 16gb would it be best to get a computer that can do more than 16GB.
maybe they wont use all 16gb each, but maybe they will!
