'Slow' performance on 950 Pro 512GB in Dell Latitude E7470 laptop

Based on what I have seen from other users, my 950 Pro 512GB seems to be a bit slow. Wondering if I missed installing something, or otherwise need to do something else.

Dell Latitude E7470 laptop
i5-6300U CPU
Windows 10 14295
Samsung NVMe drivers
I did not install any Intel RST drivers

I think it might be my CPU. The two choices I have are the i5-6300 and i7-6600....and both have the same PCI-e config.

PCI Express Revision 3.0
PCI Express Configurations ‡ 1x4, 2x2, 1x2+2x1 and 4x1

I have a PCIe wireless card in there.....so guessing I am stuck at 2x2 or 1x2+2x1.
