I formatted both my HDD and SSD because I had problems with my pc. I bought a recovery program to get files back and Ive noticed that all the stuff on the SSD is pretty much gone (99%) while on HDD I could recover atleast 75 % of the lost stuff.

Is it because once you format SSD it wipes out everything for good unlike HDD where you can recover pretty much all of it?

I have so many important stuff on my SSD and its a shame..

Thanks for the help

SSD's are a completely different animal than spinning drives. The wear leveling firmware in the SSD will immediately begin to erase blocks marked as no longer in use when you format, this makes recovery of more than just random bits of data impossible after only a few seconds, and guaranteed impossible after a few minutes. This is why you make backups.
Hey there, TheRAmmo.

Well, the technology is definitely different and formatting the SSD doesn't ensure that you'd be able to recover the data. However, if you haven't written anything on that drive and if you've used a simple Quick Format, you should be able to get some of the data off of it. Reformatting a drive is nothing more than changing the file system of the partition with the data still there. It's just that the OS does not see the said data. On the other hand SSDs have TRIM which is a great feature when everything is OK, but a huge pain when it comes to data recovery.

My advice is to get in touch with the SSD manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. The guys there may refer you to a specific data recover company or suggest different software option.

Good luck!

Some you can try (most have free trials so you can at least see if it can recover):
GetDataBack
iCare Data Recovery
EaseUS Data Recovery

I plan on testing this as I know a HDD can be recovered after format quite easily but I have heard and read that SSD are different and recovery may not be possible. As Boogieman_WD stated, it has to do with TRIM and how it works.

Ive tried 2-3 different recovery programs. Remorecover and Wondershare data recovery. Noone of them could find my old SSD files. The thing to notice here is that Ive formatted my SSD and installed windows on it. Bear in mind that it already had windows on it before formattion so it means that after I reformatted it deleted the old windows.
