I turned on my computer today after installing some Noctua NF-F12 fans and now when i turn on my computer i can hear the pump in the H100I run pretty loud (louder than usual) and sound like its kinda struggling to move any water inside (it sounds like its turning on and then ramping up, but without the sound of water flowing through the pipes/rad) before the system shuts off. I would assume that this is because the processor is overheating.
Is the pump broken, and if so, will it still be covered in the warranty?

Solution
Last call. I tried plugging the fans into the fan ports in the mobo and controlling em in then BIOS. No good as the fans kept ramping up and down. I did all that crap and more. Trying to save you some futile attempts to do something. I think the pump has limits and works only at the configured built as you get it. Cheap crap actually.

Don't know why this happens but other fans don't seem to work right with the H100iGTX, maybe the pin order. I blew a pump doing the same thing but fortunately Corsair replaced it for me. Check your processor temp in the BIOS etc. and that will tell you if the pump is failing. Just use the Corsair fans. The Noctura fans are waaaaaayy overrated anyway. Really.

The answer thing isn't important. The reason why you can't get into the BIOS and it shuts down is because the processor is over temping and the mobo shuts down the PC. It is time to replace the cooler/pump because it has failed. Same thing happened here and I was ticked. Again, put the Corsair fans back on when you get a new cooler. This isn't magic or rocket science.
Sincerely,

thanks for the advice, however, could it be the fans that killed the pump?? I literally just spent $70 on them and cant return them unless they are broken, so i would like to use them on the cooler if i can. I have heard of others worrying about killing the fan headers/pump but im not sure if thats on the old style of the H100i that used sata to power it (not 100% sure if thats right, but others with the concerns were referring to the old model nevertheless). I honestly like the corsair link software and would also like to use that; but if running the fans through the pump is going to kill it, then would i be better off using speed fan to control them and running them off the motherboard??

That is the whole point here. Yes, the fans killed the pump! Use those Noctua things for something else. Don't repeat the same problem again. $70 isn't the end of the world just a pricey lesson learned.

Have you ever heard the line, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? All this crap for a maybe a 1 deg temp difference. Is it really worth it? Hmmmmm.

lol thats exactly what i thought when i realized it killed it. Honestly though i was replacing the fans because my room gets hot and they get really loud when they spin up. It usually wouldn't bother me if it was that loud, its just that my pc is literally right next to me when im on it
