Hi
I am able to sell my gigabyte r9 290 windforce and buy gtx 980 ti asus stix 6gb at a bargine price (half the usual price) without warranty - but new sealed box.

Is the warranty needed? Do those cards break?

My psu is 600w but since r9 290 with higher tdp worked gtx 980 ti should too. Am i right?

I had many problems with my first geforce 440 i think it was - drivers mainly so i only bought radeins until now. Is there anything i should be aware of before changind r9 for gtx 980 ti?

**I have psu that has 6+2, 6 pins. Is there any way i can run this card without buying new psu?

Thanks!
Piotr

Solution
As long as you can return it if its DoA, then its good deal I guess.

Yeah if your PSU can power a 290 ok, then it should power the 980 ti no problem.

Where are you purchasing this item? All video cards made by ASUS is covered by 3 year warranty, unless it was a testing unit. There are always risks in technology defects can happen- so I would suggest you find a unit that is covered by warranty because it is worth it in the long run, sure you are saving money in the short term, but think long term. Just my opinion
