I have finished my new build choosing the ASUS Z170-a MOBO. Naturally I am now having problems activating Windows 10.
I was told by support to reinstall Windows 7 and upgrade again or purchase an expensive license.
I have my product key for Win 7 and a new SSD.
I also have the Windows 7 ISO on a separate HDD.
My DVD drive is now on the fritz and I do not have a large enough USB.
I would like to install Windows 7 directly from the ISO on my HDD to my SSD and then add the proper USB 3.0 drivers to the Win 7 install.
I will not be upgrading to Win 10 again, so when all is done I will remove it from my HDD and use it for storage.
The SSD will need to become my boot C: drive.
Any help in getting this done will be greatly appreciated.

I have never tried it but think you can do it if you partition your hdd and put your windows installation files there. See http://www.instructables.com/id/Install-Windows-7-without-USB-or-DVD-without-upgra/

Thanks ezzy_s, I read this before I posted here and am a bit uncomfortable with the process.
Having the article written by Steven Tyler didn't help much either...it's that whole "Toys in the Attic" thing :)
Would you happen to know if there is any particular version of the USB 3.0 drivers needed for my motherboard?
I would like to add them to my ISO before I start the install.
Apparently the Z170-A needs these for keyboard and mouse navigation during the install.
