So I recently installed a new corsair h75 cpu cooler because my old one was busted, I removed my two corsair vengence 2x 8GB RAM cards so they weren't in my way, and when I put them back in my computer would turn on but it wouldn't boot up. The two sticks came in a pack and are identical and have both worked fine before I installed the new cpu cooler.

Although if I put one 8GB RAM in the 3rd slot, it works just fine but no other slot works, I tried putting just one stick in and it only boots up in the 3rd, both sticks still work in the 3rd slot. If I put one stick in the 3rd slot and try other slots it doesn't work, I've tried every combination. SOMEONE HELP!!!

My motherboard is an MSi Z97 PC MATE

Solution
Try loosening the cooler then snug it down screw tight, if too tight in a corner or side it throws the CPU out of level and you can 'lose' the slots as the CPU doen's have full contact with all pins
