so now I have wired my new home with cat6 to all locations and coaxle as well to the locations with cat6 were there is tv.
My question is this, all the cat 6 and coaxle lines are marked by location and lead to the attic where the router will be, now I am to buy a switch but how does the switch know what lines coming in are for tv,internet or phone in the cat 6? Then how do I connect coaxle all together in case I need for tv? Is there a coaxle switch? I have tried to call fios to ask as they will be my provider but since on strike I can not get any one to answer my questions. I dont understand how they come together in the switch. I was also going with unmanaged since it is a home.do I need a managed switch to tell tell it what lines are voice , or tv or internet? Thank you .

Ah, no, you can't put a phone line into a switch. And I'm not sure what you mean by "TV". Is that Coax? Data (for a smart tv), or what? If it's data (ethernet) it'll go in the switch just fine, but otherwise not.

For the phones, assuming you have one phone line, you can hook them all up in parallel. However in some countries I believe it's against the law to mess with phone lines. They do have power on them so you need to be a little careful.

All the data Cat6 lines can just run into the switch.

The Coax will need to go to an aerial somewhere. Usually if you've gone to the trouble of running coax cable through the house you'll have a nice roof mount aerial, often with an amplifier on it. The aerial will only give you a single line. You can put them in a splitter, but if you connect up the whole house it will significantly degrade the signal. With coax you're best only connecting the ones you're actually using.

With all the Cat6, the "proper" way to do it is actually run it all into a patch panel (google that if you're not sure what it is). You can then label each port on the patch panel and patch in the ones you need connected to the switch. You can do the same with phone, though obviously you patch that through to you phone line.

the cat 6 I was hoping was for the fios tv. I ran coax incase i change my provider down the road and they use coax. I do know what a patch panel is ( I Think) but was told not necessary if the wires are labeled just looks more professional.... that they can all go to the switch.
I might need to start another thread/topic on how to set up home network for fios.
I wish they could help me
