Hello everyone,

I am currently running on a single 6970 and to put it simply I just can't play new games at anywhere close to full graphics. I was wondering if I got another 6970 off of ebay, would that give me enough performance to max out new games or do I need a new expensive gpu? I am running on a 2560x1440 monitor.

Let me know what you all think.

at 1440p most games will want 4 GB or more VRAM to be maxed. the 6970 lacks the VRAM needed. while crossfire would have the horsepower for 1440p, the VRAM would still only be 2GB. I would sell it and look for a 970 R9 290X or R9 390X. the R9 390X would be idea, and is much cheaper than a 980ti or 980.

Thanks for the info. Does crossfire not use the memory of both cards combined? Each 6970 would have 2GB for a total of 4GB.
