Exactly as the title says, I need help with building a gaming PC. I'll be starting completely from scratch with no parts currently owned, including keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc., and I need some advice on what parts I will need and what price range that will land me in.

I'm looking to be able to run Fallout 3 and New Vegas on medium settings at, at least, 30 fps. I'll be using this build as a starting point, and adding onto this later. I really need a rough estimate on how much a build capable of that will cost, inclusive of monitor, keyboard, etc.

I'm working off of nothing with no real knowledge in pc builds, and any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Ok here is a build that is a little over your budget and you can get the cost down by getting those discounts they talk about. If you go that it will be 586.03. This build will get you what you want. You can remove what you need or change what you need. If you plan on overclocking, you will need a cpu cooler.

I'm thinking in between $300-500$. This is just going to be my starting point, and I'll be building up from that. I'm willing to raise the budget if I have to, but I would like it to be as cheap as possible but fits my needs.

Oh ya just wanted to clarify. If you do not overclock, you can use the cpu cooler that comes with it. If you are, like I said before, you will not be using the cooler that comes with it but a custom out of stock cooler that you select.

This is a great starter build. The case is easy to work with and comes with 3 fans pre-installed. I also fit as much as I could for under $650 including a SSD for your Boot Drive and a 320GB hard drive to install extra games and files. Here you go:

It is better than both above builds for a few reasons.
Vastly improved processor (and an upgrade path, unlike the non existent path of the athlon and minimal of the FX).
Skylake platform, including DDR4.
A 960.
Slightly higher quality PSU, still not great.
A monitor that isnt tiny AF on the FX build.
