What if you have an unlocked cpu then you overclock it let's say if the cpu life span is 5 yrs provided you have good cooling..
The question is will the life span of the cpu decrease like 3-4 yrs just because you overclock it?

Solution

If you're willing to spend the time to do it right you can get some decent extra performance out of it. Also generally the overclockable ones start out a bit faster as well. So yes IMO its worth it.

No.

The only way to decrease the lifespan of a CPU by overclocking it is by doing it very heavily and cooling it poorly. And even then it will still take a long time to kill. CPU's last way longer than 5 years, and in most cases are well outdated before they ever start to fail.

Another question does getting overclockable cpu worth it?

Very simply locked CPU's cannot be overclocked, unlocked ones can. Now there are ways to get a minor overclock out of SOME locked CPU setups, but don't count on it.

OC depends on the processor. "Locked" processor most of the time refers to it's multiplier only, it's locked so it can't be raised more than stock. Some of them can be OCed even with locked multiplier.
For example, AMD Athlon II and Phenom II processors without BE (Black Edition) at the end of designation can be overclocked a lot using FSB only. In some of them that are x2 or x3 even another core or two can be unlocked. Phenom II x2 can be unlocked to x4 and OCed a lot at same time.
AMD FXxxxx processors all have unlocked multipliers, even ones that are not Black Edition which only means that they are C0 stepping and therefore higher binned which in turn means they can have better overclock.
