I am am caught between two tough desicions: whether to buy a PC or PS4. Most of you might say "why do you even bother? PC is superior!!!". Here are some reasons for my desicion-making:

With PS4, all my friends own own one and all have Black Ops 3, Rainbow Six Seige etc. It is much cheaper (4×) than the PC. However, i would have to replace it in 4 years and pay about $60 per year for online gaming.

With PC, I would be very proud of myself to build my very own rig and I can use it for homework, working on Netbeans etc. I can also have like 4x better graphics than the PS4 and online is free. And I will have to upgrade it only after at least 8 years. However, it costs at least 4x more than the PS4 and I have no friends to play with.

Any more reasons leaning towards a certain desicion and more help with my choice would be much appreciated!!!

Why not just buy a PS4 if your friends have one?

Regarding upgrading a PC, it won't last 8 years. I previously had a GTX 660, which I paid 170 euro for. I upgraded just a while back with a R9 380, same price as when I got the GTX 660, but ~40% faster post OC, and 2x more VRAM.

For the record, here's a PC that's just a tiny bit faster than a PS4 (considering I went with an i3, which also got downsides in some games):

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($110.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI MSI H110M PRO-D Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($47.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: GeIL EVO POTENZA 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory...

No bro you are wrong, even with a PC you will have to replace it after 3-4 years. The GPU just wont be able to handle games after 4 years. So both stand equal in that case. And its completely myth that PC has 4x better graphics than PS4. Theres only 10-20% difference which you are unlikely to notice. The only reason to buy a PC for you is that if you are going to get School projects or any work from school. Also PC will require less money in long run while PS4 games cost more. So if you have a good budget like 600-700$ then you should go for a PC otherwise PS4 is good as your friends also play it.

> PC cost totally depends on your budget. A PC that performs as good as a PS4 in games costs no more than 400-500 dollars (Without OS or any periperhals counted).
> It depends on if you need a PC in general, because it doesn't sound like you have one right now.

PC is more than games, hence why you pay a bit more. PS4 doesn't do more than play games and a few extra media features, that can't be compared to PC.

However, a PC has got advantages over the PS4 in many ways. You get to use different kinds of controllers. You have a greater selection of games. You have more control over game settings. You can download and use programs the PS4 can't.

I could go on all day, but the second build is the closest to the PS4, minus the WiFi.

my 760 is over 3 years old, still hits 50fps + in new AAA games (like siege) with high/ultra settings @ full 1080p even if im down to med settings in another year, I am still ahead or on par with consoles, but running at 60fps vs 30. As for only a 10-20% difference, the jump from 30 --> 60 fps is so smooth, that it is worth it on its own, and there is much more detail than 10-20% on PC.
