Help with my pc problems

Sometimes while gaming, the game freezes. Only way to solve it is to end the process via task manager. However, when i launch task manager, my mouse cursor cannot be found and i can only navigate using the tab button to switch between processes to end the game. The game i play is mainly counter strike : global offensive.

The pc is use is DELL xps 8700 running windows 8.1. Any idea what can cause this? A virus scan on Vipre did not find any viruses or malware.

*Had to resort to asking help on a forum as i cant find a solution online*

Check your Temps using HWmonitor in game.

on old hardware, or even after 2-3 years its good to change the thermal paste on the CPU, GPU and thermal pads/compund on the Northbridge of the motherboard.

Also your fans may be broken or dusty , its good to clean them also.

Alright i will definitely try that as i have not done so since my computer was bought. Which was 2 years plus ago. May i know what should the optimum core temperature while resting and while gaming?
