Please suggest an upgrade to my PC to a configuration which falls
between a Gaming PC and a Home Theater PC(As I guess).
Kindly go through my requirement patiently as I feel it is a bit unconventional.
I work on PC keeping several windows open, shifting from window to window on
various things like:
- editing a video(pruning, splitting joining etc.)
- watching YouTube
- checking mails
- going through a pdf manual
- watching a video tutorial
- editing a spread sheet
- compiling a playlist
- filing organization
- backing up with, say, Uranium Backup etc etc. The list typically
contains another 3 to 4 windows.
I also have the habit extensive googling and net reference on various topics like
learning a new SW, info on specific subjects, comparing gadgets for my next
purchase, getting to know running offers,etc etc. Here again I open a separate
browser for each topic for segregation convenience.
I have a home network and I beam media content of my desktop to my home theater
(in hall) with a media server(Universal media server) installed on desktop.
I DO NOT PLAY GAMES ON PC, not at all.
Shifting from window to window is to avoid boredom, to attend an immediate need,
to avoid saturation on the same topic etc.
Config of my present desktop:
INtel Core2 Duo E4400@2GHz
Intel 945 GCNL motherboard
3GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT
ASUS Xonar DX Sound card
PHilips Video Cpture
Benq GW 2250 Monitor
I want to change my motherboard, processor and RAM. Prefer to keep Graphics and
other cards if possible.
