6 core in online games

i only play games like tera aion blade and soul etc i was wondering if this type of games will be using 6 core cpu in a range of 2 years or can i go with z170 mobos for now instead of the x99?

You posted this on Graphics cards subforum, should be on CPU one.

Online games are very weak in requirements (in comparison to games ported from gaming consoles) because they want to be sure that most computers will be able to play them. Six core will not be a requirement for them any time soon. Will it help? Don't know.
