Hi so I'm going to test a second hand i7 4770K soon. A year old, 2 years warranty left. Just wanted to ask what all softwares should I ask the guy to keep ready in order for me to check all things like FPS, CPU usage, CPU temp etc and any other parameters that I've missed.

Also if anyone can guide me through exactly what all to check and how to go about all this, it'll be great.

Lastly I'm also getting a Cooler Master Hyper 212X. How much of a temperature decrease can I expect at stock settings and at 4.4GHz?

Thanks :)

plenty out there I just like / use these first off??

aftermarket coolers offer better cooling over stock [for the most part good enough for office type usage]

proper mounting and paste job can go a long way as well

theres more to it then selecting the ''best'' cooler and then just slapping it on ..

look at from here a issue found

this can go a long way to help insure a good mating of the chip and cooler to maximize heat transfer [judgment call ]

all things like that come from experience and how to get that excellent proper fit and get the best cooling performance out of the cooler

I think a lot of ''my chip gets hot'' threads you see here at tome are due to just slapping them on and not fully looking things over first and proper paste jobs

look them things over mount cooler test don't think I never had to take the cooler back off and redo if not satisfied I try for the best I can get out of it , but that's just me
