1. The 1st place to look would be in Event Viewer Windows System log which records problems encountered related to freezing and crashed.

2. The 2nd thing you need to do is check temps and voltages. Download:

HWiNFO to read those - http://www.hwinfo.com/
Download RealBench to test CPU - http://dlcdnmkt.asus.com/rog/RealBench_v2.43.zip
Download Furmark to test GPU - http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/

Make sure temps and voltages are within acceptable limits.

3. To test memory, use Memtext86+ and let it run overnight.

a) test w/ both sticks, if you get a fail...
b) remove on stick and test again ...
c) remove on stick and test again ...
d) the switch slots and test each again

Run the computer in Safe Mode with Networking to see if it makes a diference... if the freezes stop, the cause is software, if they continue it's hardware.

For software:
1. Run virus and malware scans
2. disable startup programs
3. update drivers
4. run SFC /Scannow
5. delete temp files

For hardware:
1. Test installed RAM as adviced previously
2. Run chkdsk
3. Defrag your HDD
4. If your disk space is running low, add more or delete unnecessary files; temps, history, log files, etc. use CCleaner.
5. Install HWiNFO to check temps, fan speeds, CPU clock speeds, etc.
6. Change Windows Power Saving Options Plan to High performance.
7. Check your BIOS power saving options settings.

EDIT:
Most points in Hardware can also cause software issues, so after correcting possible HW issues, you may need to check the sofware list again.
