I had a surge a couple of nights ago and thankfully the only thing that got broken was my Ethernet port or something. I don't know exactly how that happen. I don't have a card for it, but its just built into the MB. I made sure my router/modem combo was fine and it is. I can use it's wifi just fine on my phone. So I was wondering if there was a way I could use wifi on my phone and use tethering at the same time. If not is there some other way other than going out and buying a wifi nic because I would then just go and get a ethernet nic. I don't want to do either because I already ordered a new one from newegg, but their shipping over this weekend is making it not come until wednesday. Any help is appreciated.

sharing internet connection on phone doesn't work in two directions.
You either use the phone network and share that with computer through wifi or usb
or you use wifi to connect to existing network
or you use USB to internet passthrough and use computers connection.

so.. you would have to either buy wifi card or normal network card for the computer to connect to internet again. (unless you want to piggyback on phone's data connection through USB and possibly incur extra fees)

Hi

Unless the pc has a working wireless or Ethernet card or chip on the motherboard
Then the only other way of getting on the internet using broadband is a external usb ethernet or wireless dongle

There are 2G or 3G devices which make a wireless hot spot and some have ethernet but probably not practical

Another rarely used option is a usb to usb network cable and then share internet with another pc which is on the internet

Try reseting cmos using jumper then going into uefi or bios and seeing if ethernet chip can be enabled before giving up as dead ethernet chip
