Hi.

I have a second hand AMD R9 290X Graphics Card by Club 3D.

When installed, there is potential slight smell of burning emanating from within my P.C case and the P.C does not power on when the power button is pressed.

There is a green light on my Motherboard and my set up has been tested with a GTX 670 and seems to work with no issues.

The power supply is fairly new and is a 750W Corsair unit.

I have taken the Card apart and noticed that the stickers on the back are brownish and appear to be peeling up. The Capacitors inside the card do not look as though they have been blown and there are no other indicators that I can see (with my limited knowledge admittedly) that something is amiss.

Is there anything I can do to test the card out or to attempt a fix?

I am unable to return it to the Manufacturer as it is out of the Warranty.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can provide photos if needed.

Thanks, Billy.

Not aware of anything that is user fixable and you said other card works fine. So the 290 is dead. (my 290 in my pc spins its fans at half speed in memory of its friend your dead 290). Sorry I cant provide you good news. Start saving for a new card.

don't know to much about "Club 3d" but apparently they do overclock them from amd ref speed which means they prob also raise the voltages. could be why it burned up.
