Already went through the POST checklist (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems). I tried getting it to work with just the psu, motherboard, cpu and RAM, as was also suggested, and still nothing. I did the paper clip test on the psu, and it worked fine, so I think the motherboard might be the problem, is there anything else I can do to check wether the problem is the psu or the motherboard?

Here iare the parts (they're all new):
intel i5 6500 cpu
Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2HP mobo
evga 600B 80 plus bronze psu
Crucial DDR4-2133 8GB/1Gx64 CL15 RAM

Solution
Try starting the board outside the case, the 24 pin power cable and a case fan connected. See if the case fan (not CPU fan) does spin.

Thanks a lot for your response.

This seemed to work, and I also tried it with the CPU fan, which also worked. However, nothing worked when the PSU was upside down, which is how it needs to be situated in the case

Just got it to POST with the motherboard in the case. I just noticed that one of the tubes in the PSU is leaking something (it looks like black sludge), which I suppose explains why it won't work upside down. Do you have any idea what it could be? Thanks again.
