I have two EVGA gtx 970 ssc ready for sli, well, almost. During many moves last year, I believe I lost my remaining power cables for my EVGA 850w power supply. After Receiving my second card yesterday I've been struggling to find a power card for my second card. However I can't find the cable anywhere. On my current card I have a 8 pin to 6+8 pin connector, all the forums I've been to people say to use 8 to 6 pin? I know the 970 at max uses 175w. From the 8 pin 150w and 75w from the 6, so It definitely needs both plugged in. Am I correct with this assumption and where can I buy this 1 cable I need. Thanks in Advanced!

A lot of what you are saying is confusing. Here is what you need:

GTX 970 SSC
8-pin PCIe cable
6-pin PCIe cable

GTX 970 SSC
8-pin PCIe cable
6-pin PCIe cable

Here is what you have:

???

What current cables do you current physically have that belong to the EVGA 850W unit?

My current 970 has a 6 pin and 8 pin on one end of the cable, and one 8 pin going to the power supply. Does the 970 need both of those ends plugged into it. I've also looked on amazon and the cable im looking for doesn't seem to exist, I did find one but it was for a Cosair psu.
