Non working DVI port on GPU

I bought a used ATI Radeon x800 XL GPU to rebuild my old rig, and the DVI port is broken, and I was wondering what some thing I could try are to fix it. Any help is appreciated.

If you just bought it instead of trying to fix it and possibly voiding warranty or your return period, just return it and replace it.

What tells you that it's broken ? Is it a physical damage ?

This card was released January 1, 2004. It might be out of warranty.

Could it be the cord? The old GPU got fried when PSU died. Could that have killed the cord?

I don't think it could have killed the cord but if returning the gpu is not an option might as well try another cord. You could always try it on vga?

The VGA works it's just that the monitor doesn't support higher end VGA resolutions.
