This is the most you can get with your budget, if you want more storage and less speed, swap the SSD with an HDD.
If you get it right now, it's $700 with $40 discount.
If you're worried about the i3, watch this.

Far better PC

It is my understanding that DAYz and Arma 3 are largely single threaded and cpu dependent.
If so, you would be better off with a strong skylake I3 like the i3-6320 @3.9 which will cost less than a i5-6400 @2.7

And, I agree that Seasonic 450-550w would be a better psu.

On quality, I think I would spend a bit more for a 240gb Samsung evo.

It's not worth paying $40 for 0.2Ghz.
The i3-6100 will perform the same as the i5-6400, because it's core is 1Ghz stronger.
About the boost clock, turbo boost can't be fully utilized if you're using more than one core.
About the SSD, I didn't see the 850 EVO on the PCPartPicker list, and I thought it's price jumped for some reason, it is definitely a better choice.
My build is better than Icaraeus's build, because:
H170 motherboard, meaning 2 more memory slots.
16GB of RAM
SSD is much faster than HDD, granted gives you less storage.
His GPU performs a little better in some games(10 FPS difference), but in the high frames - I'm talking over 100, which doesn't really matter.

True enough, but boost only applies to a single thread when the others have little to do.
Yes, that is a likelihood for dayz and arma 3.
But for less $, you still get 4 threads and a 3.9 clock with a i3-6320.

"Boost only applies to a single thread" Explain how my Intel i5 gets 4.3ghz on all cores when under load.

Windows task manager will spread out the activity of a single threaded app over the available cores.
I imagine you are seeing 25% utilization across all 4 threads.

And, I would agree that a $125 i3-6100 is a very good choice on a limited budget.
only suggested a $150 i3-6320 as a similar priced alternative to a $180 6400.

Because your chip is overclocked and unlocked.

It's actually a locked CPU, but the motherboard allows limited BCLK modification functionality.

Correction, base clock of 3.4ghz and boost clock of 3.8ghz. Read up on non-K BCLK overclocking for Z77 motherboards.

corrected.
