Dear community,
first of all I am going to explain the case: We have about 5 computers working with CAD-files we want to be able to exchange. That's why we have planned to buy a NAS system, however the speed and the access time have to be good, because CAD-files are pretty large. All the computers we are using have SSD drives, so that will not slow down the connection. Furthermore all computer devices are connected to one GBit switch and we are planning to connect the NAS to it, too.
So what do we have to be conscious of and which NAS is recommendable for us and what RAID setup would be best?
Thanks in advance

If you have 5 simultaneous users with gigabit connections, you could benefit from a NAS that has more than one ethernet port and supports link aggregation. You may need to upgrade your networks switch also to support LAG. A 4 drive NAS like a DS415+ from Synology or TS-453 Pro from QNAP will support more than 100MB/s
