on a budget right now, have to pick between 760 and 960, dunno if the extra money is worth getting 960.

Performance wise the 960 is slightly better and it is newer and is more future proof. Ifor you have a 760 don't upgrade to a 960 Imo it won't be worth it but if your upgrading from something else go for the 960 or if you can spend a little more you can find a gtx 970 for around 260-270 if you look hard enouf.
