So my crap Powercool PSU which I really shouldn't have cheaped out on is finally starting to die. I think the sound card I got as a replacement when the on-board one broke finally pushed it over the edge, not to mention the upgrade from a 250GB HDD to a 250GB SSD plus a 750GB HDD. When the fans on the GPU are running fast the PSU starts making a horrible crackling noise which increases as the fans go faster. This happens even when the GPU is not under load but the fans are going fast - I tested this using the custom fan feature on MSI Afterburner. I've checked for wires hitting fans and there are none, although the sound card is very close to the GPU. The sound is definitely coming from the PSU.
