Hey Guys,

I bought myself a new MoBo (Asrock Z77 Extreme 4-m) and installed all my current hardware on it but my computer shuts off after a few seconds when turning on. I have basically tried everything I could and tried breadboarding as well. I took the MoBo off of the case and only attached the PSU + CPU/HSF and 1 Stick of RAM. I'm also getting no video signal to my display. Strangely enouth, I tried to boot up without any RAM installed and it didn't shut it self off. I have already tried clearing CMOS with the jumper and removing the battery as well to no avail. If I install the RAM into the first two slots beneath the CPU it shuts itself off but if installed into the third and fourth RAM slot it does NOT turn off again. I have no idea what to do next.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Update guys ;

I was able to get video to my new Mobo again but my victory was only short-term. The primary video adapter was set to PCI-E so I had to plug in a graphics card and voila I had video again.

But I got a new problem.......

After being able to get into Bios I shut my pc off again and switched my CPU because it wasnt the one I wanted to use. (switched from i3 2120 to i5 2500k). After that I had no video signal again but the the strange thing is that my Pc doesn't turn itself off and my keyboard and mouse weren't on anymore. It seems like my computer doesn't recognize the installed RAM. I installed my old CPU again but I still had no video signal. Besides that my CPU Fan didn't spin at max but only silent. So I took off the heatsink and fan and touched my CPU to see if it was hot during the boot and it wasn't. I cleared the CMOS and took off the battery again to no avail.

Now I am completely clueless and don't know what to do. Is it a bad MoBo I got?
