gtx 980Ti connect gtx 1080

Hello, i want to ask you: I have new computer with Nvidia geforce gtx 980Ti (https://www.custompc.com.cy/components/graphics-cards/nvidia-graphics-card/evga-geforce-gtx-980-ti-6144-mb-gddr5/), and i want graphics card gtx 1080, can I connect my 980Ti with Sli Bridge with 1080?

You can connect them as they both have a bridge but they will not work together in SLI. SLI requires the cards to use the same gpu and vram.

So, you say, that if i buy gtx1080 and give it to my computer and connect with Sli with 980Ti, the performance of both cards will not merge, but only one will work?

SLI requires the gpus to use the same gpu and vram, the 1080 and 980ti use different gpus and different vram.
