How long will the GTX 960 last?

I'm trying to figure out which GPU should I get. I was thinking that how long will the 960 GPU would last until I upgrade it?

at 1080p your fine for a good amount of time get a 1060 when it comes out or even wait for the volta 1160 in 2018 i know like right now a 760 can still play games as the 10xx cards come out so a 960 will most likely play games when the 11xx cards come out

Define what you mean by "last". If you mean until it breaks, that can never be determined, some cards last 1 year, some will last 10. How cool the GPU stays as well as owning a quality power supply (and quality GPU) can all affect the longevity of the actual, physical hardware.

If you mean how long it'll be able to play games, I'd say you'll be fine for a good some years. You can always turn down settings, and companies don't want to release games that won't run on mainstream hardware.

What resolution and fps do you want to play at? 1080p at 60fps average?

LOL very false. Plays most triple A games at ultra at the moment.

Not really. Most people who say they are playing on ultra really aren't anyway. Well, technically anything can play ultra, but 60FPS+ is difficult.
