Have some questions regarding my case and my new build

Solution
I don't know. I have had a couple of them cases after I've scavenged old hard drives and optical drives from them, and I'm not impressed. with them for future use in a build. All of mine have had top mounted PSU's and I hate that. Plus I wouldn't want my custom beauty saying HP on it. I also really dislike, okay, hate, the HDD cages in those things. I like having quick access to mh HDD, in case I need to drop one in or out. Maybe that's just me. Although maybe someone who has been successful reusing them will answer. For under $30 you can get a Xion XON-560 and there are NO compatibility issues.

If you do reuse that case, I'd worry about cooling. Odds are you're putting better components in there that will heat up more than what...

If you do reuse that case, I'd worry about cooling. Odds are you're putting better components in there that will heat up more than what was in it originally. So you might want to mod it, to give it more airflow.

And for question two, you might have to find some legacy adapters to match with current plugs. I literally took my wife's Gateway apart today (very similar to my old HP case) so I could harvest the old optical drive and HDD. Her new build went live today. I was looking at the old plugs and pin connectors, and they are not compatible with any of the newer stuff without an adapter or modification. How much is your time, and shopping for/buying these adapters worth to you to save $30?

Solution

Not worth it, too ugly and cramped, IMHO.
Also, get a single stick of 8gb ram so you can add more later(that MB only has two slots). Dual channel or not doesn;t matter unless you game on integrated graphics.
