Hey guys, I am overclocking an FX-8320E processor, and I've gotten as far as 3.4 ghz from the base clock 3.2 with a stock cooler and not raising the voltage. When I tried Prime95 for 3.5 ghz, I got an error in two cores out of the 8. Could cranking up the voltage from the base voltage 1.1125 volts achieve better results with 3.5 ghz?

Solution
a combination of bus speed and multiplier. I'm not 100% familiar with the 8320e as I've only owned the 8320, but a voltage around 1.35 should be a good starting point. Use a high LLC. You should be able to get close to 4.5Ghz

So with the Hyper Evo 212 how should I overclock?

Would 1.35 be safe for my motherboard, an ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3?

Yes. But I would not recommend going higher than 1.4 with that motherboard. It does not have heat-sinks on the MOSFETS. This is the area to the left of your CPU (VRM's or Voltage regulation modules) They will go up in smoke if you crank the voltage too high.

The Hyper EVO will promote airflow around this region if you direct it towards the back of the case. That's one of the reasons I recommend them to FX series.

You're going to have to be careful overclocking, but it is definitely still possible.

What difference, other than better temps of course, if their between a stock cooler and an Hyper Evo 212? Nothing. They both work off the same principal.

Overclocking with a stock cooler is definitely possible as long temps are kept in check.

Would the Hyper 212 EVO fit in my Thermaltake V3 Black Edition?
