My intended use for the build:

For general everyday use and gaming.

**If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)**

I am currently playing 1680x1050 and would like to be able to get 60 fps on newer games, compromising some settings is fine

**What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?**

Around 250ish if possible, I would go higher if needed. (I believe it it)

**In what country are you purchasing your parts?**

USA

**Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please).

I am currently looking to upgrade to an NZXT S340 Case with a Hyper 212 EVO. I am not sure if I would need to upgrade my motherboard or PSU as I would need to buy a Fan Splitter for the case.
Would the upgrades above suffice? And would I be fine with purchasing a fan splitter without having to worry?

The only weak link is the aging CPU. But you'd have to research the manufacturer of your Pre-built PC to see what CPU upgrade you can use and if a BIOS update is needed and available.
Btw, a green HDD is not the best for a boot drive. Some green drives tend to spin down when not in use for awhile. And 5400 RPM is slow.
