Is there a way to test if motherboard is working?

Hey there. My build with Haswell processor and Asus Z87-Pro stopped working after I turned power off by pressing the power button. I have fans spinning but there red lights on the motherboard for the CPU, Memory and VGA. According to the manual, the red lights should light up and stay red until the problem is solved. My lights blinking at a different speed. The motherboard display showing numbers running, each of them represents some task initialization but none of the numbers are errors. I disconnected the graphics card, so the red light for the VGA disappeared, but it still not able to load BIOS. I tested it with another set of memory from working computer. With new memory it goes in more obvious restart loop- it actually shuts down and restarts itself- all before BIOS load. I am waiting for help on how to test the power supply in components forum as tech support form for PSU manufacturer is not working and I can not contact them. But assuming it is not a power supply issue, how can I figure out what causing the problem? Is there a way to test the motherboard? Do I randomly buy new motherboard and put processor in it just to see what happens? Thank you.

Wow! It POST!!!!

I took it out of the case and it posted. Asking for a boot device now. Bench it works! I was resisting to take it out of the case but when I did- it works! Soo exciting.

So what does it mean? Does it mean- the case shorts it some how? Do I need a new case? I also had a fan connected before I took it out of the case...

One more thing... there is a connector that connects the case power button to the motherboard- the power switch. Can it be an issue? That would make sense as the computer malfunctioned when the power was pressed, so if this is the power connector pins on the motherboard... Now I have it disconnected and powering it by pressing the power button on the motherboard. Does it makes any sense?

I know now exactly what is wrong. It is a place where the wires from the power button on the case connect to the motherboard. Now I have to figure out if it is the case wires shortage or if it is a shortage on the motherboard pins. I have a feeling that these are the pins on the motherboard, not the wires on the case. How would I test it? Thank you.
