I have a couple Sabrent 2.5 brackets (e.g. http://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Internal-Drive-Mounting-BK-HDDH/dp/B00G57BN1M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464666291&sr=8-1&keywords=sabrent+2.5+to+3.5+inches+internal+hard+disk+drive+mounting+kit+bk-hddh)

Each bracket can house up to 2 x 2.5 in SSDs or HDDs, but the space between them would be pretty close. I wanted to throw an old 2.5 in laptop HDD into the same bracket with one of my new SSDs (secondary extra storage), but I am worried that with both, it will heat up too much. I am wondering if anyone has tested these brackets with 2 SSDs, 2 HDDs, or one of each and has seen what it does to them.

Solution

I have used that exact bracket with 2 x SSD.
Zero heat problem. Maybe 1 or 2 degree hotter...

I have used that exact bracket with 2 x SSD.
Zero heat problem. Maybe 1 or 2 degree hotter than widely spaced. But totally within spec.
